Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry that deals with children from birth into their teenage years.  Children are highly susceptible to tooth problems; in fact, a 2002 report by the Surgeon General of the United States reported that dental problems are the most common childhood medical ailment in America, and five times more common than asthma.  Pediatric dentists often teach children lifelong habits about dental care and oral hygiene.  To this end, pediatric dentists play an important role in children’s development and health.
